A scaled down version of the NGP, the Ninthward THA 187 is still a burly, solid choice for big mountain resort skiing. The waist width suggests that this is for powder only, but Snowbird-ites will insist a ski like this is more of an all mountain cruiser. Uh, don't listen to them. This ski was made to float on top of the softer snow at any speed, but really performs best above average speeds. It does sport a twin tip, which for a ski of this size, is more functional in reducing the running length as to skiing backwards.

Ninthward and twin tip skis have come a long way since their debut years ago. The Le Comte model is an example of how great these skis have become. This model is more of a park ski with the ability to carve anywhere on the ski hill. A centered stance aids in ease of maneuvering the skis while in the park, but this benefit also translates to quicker turning when free-skiing. When an all mountain twin tip ski is needed, most of the time, the Le Comte is the answer.

Ninthward MIP (Tosh Peters) Twin Tip Park Skis

The bigger brother (pretty much literally) to the Max Peters model, the Ninthward MIP Tosh Peters model is a little wider and longer to handle a wider range of snow types. A waist width of 86mm means this ski will handle any groomed run with ease, and will float comfortably over shallow powder. This ski is still designed around performance in the terrain park, so that's where it shines. Skiers with more of an all mountain focus will enjoy this ski's versatility. East or West coast, this ski is a great all mountain twin.

Ninthward First Blood Twin Tip All Mountain Skis

The Ninthward First Blood has a respectable waist width for powder skiing (91mm), but is lively enough for everyday conditions out west. The stiffer than average flex helps maintain edge control when the powder runs out and hardpack is all that's left. Add a twin tip at the tail, and here's a ski that can do it all, including sessions in the park. Skis are getting wider these days, but even still, east coasters will find better use for this ski when snow is softer and for powder days. .
